JOHANNESBURG – Residents from Forest Farm Centre for Cerebral Palsied Adults got a glimpse into the day-to-day running of a news channel when they visited eNCA’s studios in Hyde Park. The group got to interact with eNCA’s on air personalities which include news anchors and reporters. The Bryanston-based care facility was also treated to a tour of the eMedia building which included visits to the radio station YFM and the etv offices. The group expressed their joy as they explored the multimedia facility.”We learnt things we didn’t know about and how all the work gets put into all the newscasts,” said Yolandi van Aarde, a resident at Forest Farm Centre for Cerebral Palsied Adults.A fellow resident shared a similar view.Lorraine Venter said, “My experience here was wonderful I’ve never experienced a place like this before it was wonderful to know what the people here do.”Babalwa Bixa, who is a staff member at Forest Farms said it was a nice outing for the residents as they rarely have such outings because some residents are severely disabled and can’t do normal activities without being assisted.
